To join our leadership team or to be a young leader for D of E (14 – 18 year old’s) please use the contact us form, we will need parent/ guardian to do this.
How our joining process works:
We have joining in January, April and September only.
We select those within the eligible age range and priortise those in our local area SK8 3 and M22 5, we then draw the number of available places at random and invite to join. Time on waiting list is not a factor. Please reply to your place if offered promptly as we will reoffer it if not heard within 7 days.
Our membership fee for 2024 is £144 per year, which is paid monthly (£12) and includes badges, necker, programme resources and subsidised camps and activities. It also covers our running costs, insurance etc. All Leaders are volunteers.
The only priority is to those who already volunteer within the group as all our leaders are volunteers and scouting doesn’t happen without them freely giving their time.
Please note if you sign up and are offered a place we expect parents to help out in some form during their time in scouting. We have many different ways to volunteer outside of leading a section, please get in touch to find out more.
